Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA - Full Time

A Physical Therapist Assistant is a licensed healthcare professional who works under the supervision of a physical therapist to help patients improve their mobility and functional abilities. They provide hands-on treatment, assist with therapeutic exercises, and support patients in their recovery process.

Description :

The Physical Therapist Assistant helps patients accomplish treatment plans and accept therapeutic activities by administering manual physical exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities, as well as applying assistive and supportive care. The PTA will assess and interpret evaluations and test results, determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians, and document patient care services by charting in patient and department records in compliance with legal and professional requirements. Responsibilities include:

1. Follow-up visits for home health orthopedic patients
2. Ensuring continued eligibility for home health services
3. Helping patients use supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses
4. Instructing and counseling patients on therapeutic regimens, growth, development, wellness, and health maintenance
5. Maintaining a safe, clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and infection-control policies
6. Monitoring treatment trends and actual services to meet production objectives
7. Driving as a requirement

Qualifications :

• Graduation from an accredited Assistant Therapy Assistant Program
• In-state licensure
• At least 1 year of home health experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Strong caring interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record
