Physical therapy aims to restore function, prevent or minimize disability following disease or injury, and help clients reach their maximum performance within their capabilities. The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients using prescribed physical therapy programs. They may supervise Physical Therapy Assistants per agency and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities and Duties for Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):
  • Carry out the PT-developed care plan.
  • Assist patients with mobility and movement, helping them regain independence.
  • Create detailed treatment and care plans for each patient.
  • Communicate and coordinate with patients’ physicians to ensure quality care.
  • Coordinate patient progress with the care team.
  • Evaluate and report on patients’ progress.
Qualifications for PTA:
  • Current and unrestricted California PT license required.
  • At least 1 year of experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to travel within a 20-mile radius to see patients.
Skills:
  • Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and electronic.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to build rapport with patients and provide high-quality care.
