Job description

Provides physical therapy treatment in accordance with the plan of care established by the physical therapist. Recommends changes in treatment plan to the supervising physical therapist based on the patient's condition and response to treatment. Maintains a neat, orderly work area. Directs therapy volunteers and performs clerical responsibilities as required. Transports patients safely, comfortably, and professionally as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in staff meetings, development programs, and committees.
• Supervise clinical support staff per the Physical Therapy Practice Act.
• Accurately complete charge/statistical documentation of services rendered.
• Provide therapeutic interventions based on physical therapist-developed treatment programs for all age groups.
• Assist physical therapists with patient surveys within scope of practice.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of clinical services.
• Rotate through treatment areas as needed.
• Provide feedback on department performance and emergencies.
• Meet or exceed facility productivity standards.
• Implement and adjust treatment programs based on patient response and medical status.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program with an associate's degree.
• Knowledge and skills to provide quality customer service.
• Preferred: Experience in acute care, inpatient rehab, or long-term care.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• CPR/BLS certification per AHA standards within 30 days of hire.
• Physical Therapist Assistant license or indirect supervision.
• Act 34 clearance.
• OAPSA certification.
