Job summary

Smoky Ridge Health & Rehabilitation in Burnsville, NC is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to deliver high-quality therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

You will carry out treatment plans, assist residents with mobility and strength, monitor progress, communicate with the supervising PT, educate residents and families, and adhere to facility policies and infection control.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current and valid licensure/certification as a PTA.
• CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire).
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist, including exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility tasks.
• Assist residents in improving strength, range of motion, and endurance.
• Monitor and document residents' treatments, progress, and responses per standards.
• Communicate with supervising PT regarding status, changes, and care plan adjustments.
• Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers on exercises and safety.
• Adhere to facility policies and infection control.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at Smoky Ridge Health & Rehabilitation in Burnsville, NC. As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to deliver high-quality therapy services that help residents improve mobility, restore physical function, reduce pain, and enhance independence in daily activities.

About the Role:

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Smoky Ridge Health & Rehabilitation, you will:

• Carry out treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility tasks.

• Assist residents in improving strength, range of motion, and overall physical endurance.

• Monitor and document residents' treatments, progress, and responses in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.

• Communicate effectively with the supervising PT regarding residents' status, changes, and potential adjustments to care plans.

• Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers on exercise programs, mobility techniques, and safety measures.

• Adhere to facility policies, professional practice standards, and regulatory requirements, including documentation and infection control.
