Job summary

Smoky Ridge Health & Rehabilitation in Burnsville, NC is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver therapy services aimed at improving mobility, function, and independence for residents in a skilled nursing setting.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, monitoring progress, educating residents and families, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current and valid licensure/certification as a PTA.
• CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire).
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility tasks.
• Assist residents in improving strength, range of motion, and overall physical endurance.
• Monitor and document residents' treatments, progress, and responses in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with the supervising PT regarding residents' status, changes, and potential adjustments to care plans.
• Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers on exercise programs, mobility techniques, and safety measures.
