Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant implements physical therapy programs and provides treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

1. Implement resident’s individualized treatment plans as defined by the primary Physical Therapist.
2. Provide individualized physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises.
3. Assist Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
4. Organize and facilitate treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist.
5. Instruct residents, families, and caregivers in physical therapy techniques under supervision.
6. Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to develop suitable programs.
7. Maintain documentation for all residents treated.
8. Attend and contribute to resident care and staff meetings.
9. Maintain and report on equipment needs.
10. Ensure high-quality, compassionate care respecting residents’ needs and rights.

Educational & Vocational Requirements

1. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
2. Licensed as required by the State.

Job Skills

1. Good organizational and time management skills.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Duties

1. Interact with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
2. Perform other tasks as needed, including hands-on interventions.
