Job description

CitiMED is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant. Join our growing multi-specialty outpatient facility specializing in injury rehabilitation, medical legal diagnostics, treatment and surgery.

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant will provide direct treatment services under the supervision of a physical therapist following the documented patient treatment plan. This is a full-time position with occasional travel between our Midtown, Hollywood, Kendall, and North Miami Beach locations. The role is primarily based in Midtown with the possibility of traveling to other sites.

Responsibilities
  • Adheres to professional, ethical and legal standards of practice.
  • Participates with physical therapist in developing patient treatment plans.
  • Administers a variety of exercises and interventions following the documented patient treatment plan.
  • Observes and records the effectiveness of intervention, and documents patient’s progress.
  • Proposes modification of specific intervention procedures to physical therapist.
  • Explains treatment techniques to patients.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment and equipment.
  • Builds quality relationships with patients, physicians/providers, and co-workers.
  • Instructs, motivates, safeguards, and assists patients as they practice exercises or functional activities.
  • Observes patients during treatments to compile and evaluate data on their responses and progress and provides results to the physical therapist in person or through progress notes.
  • Confers with physical therapy staff and others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment.
  • Communicates with and instructs caregivers and family members on patient therapeutic activities and treatment plans.
  • Monitors operation of equipment and records use of equipment and administration of treatment.
Skills & Abilities
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of physical therapy and medical terminology.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred).
Education & Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy.
  • Valid PTA license.
