The Stepping Stones Group in Joliet, IL is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our school-based team as a full-time member. You will support students with mobility and functional goals under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, collaborating with teachers and families to promote students' participation in the educational setting.

This role emphasizes compassionate care, ongoing documentation, and adherence to school and district policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Active Illinois PTA license.
• IL Clearances.
• Experience with children or adolescents preferred; school-based experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide direct physical therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
• Assist students in developing mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional skills.
• Document student progress and treatment activities accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, teachers, families, and school staff.
• Support the use of adaptive equipment and mobility devices.
• Maintain compliance with school, district, and state requirements.
