Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our school-based team in Gallup, NM. This full-time opportunity works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help students improve mobility, independence, and participation in the educational setting.

You will support students with diverse physical needs as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to their educational and developmental goals and collaborating with therapists,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Active New Mexico Physical Therapist Assistant license.
• NM PED credential (as applicable).
• Previous experience with children or adolescents preferred.
• School-based experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide direct physical therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
• Assist students in developing mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional skills.
• Document student progress and treatment activities accurately and timely; collaborate with therapists, teachers, families, and school staff.
• Support the use of adaptive equipment and mobility devices.
• Maintain compliance with school, district, and state requirements.
