Job summary

BrightStar Care is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in Gainesville on a full-time basis. The PTA will work closely with physicians to create client-specific home care plans, emphasizing safety and fall prevention, and will assess mobility, strength and pain to guide therapy decisions.

The role requires graduation from an accredited PTA program and Texas PTA licensure. Two years of prior PT experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth and a supportive team

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Texas.
• Two years of experience as a physical therapist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with physicians to develop a care and treatment plan appropriate for the client’s home environment, focusing on fall risk, interventions and home safety.
• Assess muscle strength, mobility, gait, range of motion, and pain; select treatment and assistive devices and instruct families on device use.
• Report client response to treatment or changes in condition to the Director of Nursing and physician.
• Initiate physical therapy program and instruct other personnel, including family members and caregivers, in specific phases of physical therapy.
• Prepare clinical and progress summaries and participate in discharge planning; submit summaries to the Director of Nursing.
• Treat clients, families, and staff with courtesy and respect.

• Must adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality


• Two years of experience as a physical therapist is preferred.
