Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for outpatient therapy at Northwest Healthcare in Florissant, MO. This 1:1, patient-centered role offers flexible scheduling and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

The PTA will implement treatment plans under supervision, document progress, and support clinical fieldwork students while contributing to discharge planning and ongoing care optimization.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• PTA certification/licensure required.
• Licensed PTA in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist.
• Collaborates with the licensed physical therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient’s plan of care, treatment goals and interventions.
• Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient’s discharge note from physical therapy.
• Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the physical therapist.
• Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.

Provides outpatient physical therapy evaluation and treatments for patients with any number of physical impairments which affect their ability to function and/or cause pain. Department is staffed by physical therapists, physical therapists' assistants, and aides

Role Purpose
