Job summary

Coastal Health & Rehabilitation Center in Daytona Beach, Florida is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). You will work under a licensed Physical Therapist to provide skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, focusing on mobility, gait, and functional activities.

The role welcomes both new and experienced PTAs and emphasizes empathetic, patient-centered care. Compensation offered is $35-$40 hourly (PRN).

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current PTA certification or license in Florida.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with elderly or rehabilitating residents.
• Ability to lift, support, and assist residents safely during mobility and activities.
• Ability to collaborate with Physical Therapists and nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises.
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans per resident needs.
• Monitor progress and document outcomes accurately and timely.
• Provide education and support to residents and families on home exercise programs.
• Maintain a safe, clean therapy environment and proper equipment use.
• Collaborate with nursing and therapy teams to support care plans.
• Encourage resident participation and independence in daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs
• Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, ensuring equipment is used appropriately
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support overall care plans
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily functional activities

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current PTA certification or license in the state of Florida
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with elderly or rehabilitating residents
• Ability to work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and other care team members
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Basic understanding of rehabilitation principles and SNF regulatory guidelines (preferred)
• Ability to lift, support, and assist residents safely during mobility and therapeutic activities
