Kensington-Gardens-Rehab-and-Nursing-Center-2 is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) on a per diem basis in Florida. The PTA will support residents in rehabilitation, assist with mobility activities, and help implement individualized treatment plans under a licensed PT.

Strong communication and teamwork with nursing and therapy staff are essential, along with a resident-centered, safety-focused approach to care. Prior PTA experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current Florida PTA license or certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and care teams.
  • Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Assist residents with mobility training, transfers, gait training, and strengthening exercises.
  • Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs.
  • Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately.
  • Provide education and support to residents and families regarding home exercise programs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment; ensure equipment is used properly.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support care plans.
  • Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily activities.

Calling all those with a heart for care! We’re seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).

Whether you have previous PTA experience or are just beginning your journey, we welcome candidates who bring empathy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. Experience is a plus—and not required.

In a skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting, PTAs play a vital role in supporting residents through their rehabilitation journeys. You’ll be a guiding hand, a trusted support, and an essential part of our caregiving community. From assisting with therapeutic exercises to promoting mobility and independence, your daily work will have a lasting and meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist

  • Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises

  • Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs

  • Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely

  • Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs

  • Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support overall care plans

  • Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily functional activities

Qualifications for a Skilled Nursing Facility
  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

  • Current PTA certification or license in the state of Florida

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with elderly or rehabilitating residents

  • Ability to work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and other care team members

  • Compassionate, patient‑centered approach to care

  • Basic understanding of rehabilitation principles and SNF regulatory guidelines (preferred)

  • Ability to lift, support, and assist residents safely during mobility and therapeutic activities
