Pay Range: $42,000 - $86,000
Job Description:
A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will assist a Physical Therapist in implementing a treatment plan to support pediatric patients with physical, neurological, cognitive, and social/emotional disabilities or delays by planning and administering physical therapy services in the home and community.
Responsibilities:
- Provides quality care and meets the needs of the patient and family by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results; developing goals appropriate to the child; creating and implementing physical therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician.
- Assists pediatric patients in developing or regaining physical, neurological, cognitive, and/or social/emotional functioning and improving independence by implementing skilled interventions to maximize each child's potential.
- Participates in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills for carrying over therapeutic activities into daily routines.
- Coordinates with referral partners, including Early Intervention Colorado, to provide services according to physician orders and IFSP.
- Ensures continuation of therapeutic plans after discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
- Documents patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system.
- Maintains patient confidentiality by keeping information secure.
Requirements:
- Texas State PTA License
- Current CPR certification
- A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
