The role you’ll contribute:

Responsible for providing a continuum of services to patients with neuromuscular, orthopedic, and other physically related disorders. This includes mobility training, strengthening, modalities, specialized manual therapy, and neuromuscular re-education. Utilizes the rehab process to promote and restore optimal health and well-being. Participates in professional responsibilities such as documentation, program development, teaching, and enhancing clinical skills.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Implements program of corrective treatments for patients, as evaluated by a physical therapist and under indirect supervision. Uses measurable goals and time frames to guide therapy activities.
• Performs various therapeutic interventions, including ADL retraining, patient education on home safety, adaptive equipment, compensation techniques, coordination, strengthening, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, aquatic therapy, and neuromuscular re-education based on patient needs.
• Follows the established plan of care for patients, within the scope of practice for a PTA.
• Provides education to patients and families based on assessed needs, utilizing appropriate resources.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Ability to perform basic treatments for orthopedic, neurological, and medical patients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• DRIVLIC certification (Required for positions within Home Health)
