Position Overview

Penn Medicine is dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care, conducting innovative research, and educating future medical leaders. Working here involves collaboration with top professionals across disciplines.

Position Summary: Assists the Physical Therapist in patient care by performing delegated Physical Therapy procedures and tests suitable to the assistant’s education and experience. Patient care includes pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

Essential Functions
  • Implements treatment plans under supervision, understanding patient history and precautions.
  • Communicates treatment rationale to patients, families, and team members.
  • Supervises equipment use and ensures safety precautions.
  • Monitors patient responses and reports to the Physical Therapist if adjustments are needed.
  • Maintains documentation and follows billing procedures.
Secondary Functions
  • Assists with scheduling and environment maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from an APTA-approved program.
  • Registered as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the State Board.
  • CPR certification.
