Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care Implementation: Assist in the implementation of treatment plans developed by the physical therapist to address patients’ specific rehabilitation goals and functional needs.
• Therapeutic Exercise and Activities: Lead patients through prescribed exercises and therapeutic activities designed to enhance their physical function and promote recovery. Instruct patients on proper exercise techniques, monitor progress, and provide feedback.
• Modalities and Physical Agents: Ensure the proper application of various treatment modalities, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatment parameters as necessary.
• Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and families on injury prevention strategies, proper body mechanics, and pain management techniques.
• Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor patients’ responses to treatment interventions, document progress, and share updates with supervising physical therapist.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Degree in an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current license/certification in the state of practice
