Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Job Duties:

• Assist the Physical Therapist in executing individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery
• Deliver therapeutic interventions including strength training, balance improvement, and mobility exercises
• Support patients in achieving functional goals and regaining independence
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and rehab strategies
• Monitor progress, report outcomes, and adapt care under PT supervision
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with facility standards and state regulations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure a holistic approach to care
• Stay informed on best practices in physical therapy and participate in ongoing learning

Qualifications

Required Qualifications for Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of practice
• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Experience in skilled nursing, inpatient rehab, or outpatient therapy preferred
