Job Description
Summary

We are hiring for a Full Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).

The PTA performs treatment, provides exercise instruction, and patient education to improve or enhance the patient's well-being, following the established plan of care.

Responsibilities
  1. Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, follow all state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care, adhere to the treatment plan defined by the PT, and perform only procedures qualified and trained for.
  2. Make recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising PT.
  3. Instruct and assist patients in evidence-based treatments within the scope of practice and legal regulations.
  4. Observe, record, and report patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT, nurse, or physician.
  5. Coordinate care with healthcare team members as appropriate.
  6. Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members in therapy-related areas within scope of practice.
  7. Visit patients across the service area and nearby agencies as needed.
  8. Complete and submit progress notes per policy after each visit.
  9. Participate in staff meetings and committees as requested.
  10. Adhere to therapy standards of practice in service provision.
  11. Participate in weekend rotation duties as assigned.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
License Requirements
  • Current licensure, registration, or certification to practice physical therapy in Florida.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to dependable transportation.
