Job summary

Encore at Foulk is hiring a Full Time Physical Therapist Assistant to work across Parkside, Foulk, and Wilmington communities under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

The PTA will provide a range of physical therapy treatments to enhance independence and function, participate in patient care conferences, and ensure accurate documentation according to the plan of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA therapy program.
• Current DE state licensure.
• CPR certification.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Results-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with therapy documentation (NetHealth).

Responsibilities

• Attend and contribute to patient care and meetings as a representative of physical therapy.
• Ensure efficient delivery of rehab services and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with rehab team to implement patient programs.
• Assist Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and procedures.
• Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in treatment techniques.
• Maintain timely documentation for all patients treated.
• Maintain and report equipment repairs as needed.
• Implement patient treatment plans under the supervising PT.
• Provide treatments such as therapeutic exercise, gait training, and manual therapy.

Job description

Encore at Foulk is currently hiring for a Full Time Physical Therapist Assistant. The Physical Therapist Assistant will work across Encores 3 communities:Parkside, Foulk, and Wilmington . The Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist.

  Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department, and patient(s)' schedule, and timely documentation of services.

  Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.

  Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.

  Instruct patients, families, and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.

  Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.

  Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.

  Implements a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist.

  Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including but not limited to:

  Therapeutic exercise including aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait, and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance training. Functional training

  Manual therapy

  Airway clearance techniques

  Integumentary repair and protection

  Use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities

  Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.

  Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) therapy program.

Current DE state licensure.

CPR Certified

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Results-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with therapy documentation (NetHealth).

Must pass a medical and physical examination based on job qualifications, requirements, and duties/responsibilities.
