University Of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD is seeking a part-time Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide limited PT services under supervision. The University Of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is located in La Plata, Maryland. The hospital has approximately 110 beds, and approximately 260,000 sq. ft. of space. There are five Operating Rooms, approximately 41 Exam/Treatments rooms in the Emergency Department, a Wound Care Center, and Infusion Center located within the hospital campus. CRMC also operates approximately Medical Practices, to include an Endoscopy Center, and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center that are located off-site all within an approximate five-mile radius of the main hospital Campus. This is for a Part Time position, 24 hour/week. Those hours should be over 4 or 5 weekdays, and the start/stop time is flexible as long as it is between 8a-4p. ** Bonus Eligible** Delivers limited physical therapy services under the periodic supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Carries out treatment plans according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed.Performs limited physical therapy services to patients in accordance with generally accepted standards, Maryland Department of Health Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, code of ethics, and departmental and/or organizational policies and procedures. Carries out treatment plan programs for clients/patients to improve movement, manage pain, and/or prevent injury. Records patient data for re-evaluations and care provided in the medical record in accordance with departmental documentation standards.Informs patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members of evaluation results and plan for treatment and refers for further evaluation.Provides therapy education and counseling to individuals.Provides mentorship and training to clinical team members and/or students as eligible based on departmental needs. Demonstrates interdisciplinary, safe, patient-centered care and delivers excellent customer service. Participates in performance improvement activities and suggests areas for improvement to colleagues in a tactful and considerate manner. Proposes performance improvement topics and alternate treatment techniques to improve therapy services.Reports clinical and operational issues to departmental leadership and assists in their resolution to assure high quality care and efficient departmental operations.Perform other related duties as assigned.
