Redcrest Home Care is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to provide skilled services in patients' homes within the Greater Lafayette area. The PTA works under a Physical Therapist and educates patients and families while ensuring safe, compliant care.

We value experience in acute settings, strong communication, and thorough documentation. A current PTA license and a valid driver's license are essential; mileage is reimbursed and schedules are flexible.

Qualifications

• PTA license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of one year of PTA experience in an acute setting preferred.
• Home care experience desired.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and coworkers.
• Ability to document accurately and maintain compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled PTA services in patients' homes per plan of care.
• Observe and report patient progress and changes to the supervising PT.
• Perform PTA modalities to relieve pain and restore function.
• Document all treatments and communication per agency and Medicare guidelines.
• Educate patients and families on therapy techniques and safety.

The Physical Therapist Assistant educates patients and their family members and ensures safety of the patient. Documents all aspects of start of care visits within 48 hours of visits.Completes and submits all required documentation within specified company requirements.Follows plan of care as permitted within the scope of practice for a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, per the state of employment.Per visit compensation refers to a lump sum payment for all activities in connection with a visit to a patient. It is compensation not only for the time involved in doing patient care but for preparation time, travel, lab drops, picking up supplies, charting, and communication with the patient’s family, physician, and other health care providers.HEALTH QUALIFICATIONS:Health Requirements: Must be able to meet all physical position requirements. Evidence required of a current negative tuberculin skin test or x-ray or receive TB testing at the date of orientation. Thereafter an annual tuberculin skin test is required, unless the employee has documentation of a previous TB test. Employee must be free of physical/medical conditions, which would limit or restrict their ability to perform the essential functions.
