Job Summary

Provides physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, including modalities, manual techniques, and exercise techniques. Guides patients through functional activities like bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance. Works under minimal supervision and may mentor staff on technical skills.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent: Preferred
• Two years' technical experience: Preferred
• Experience in therapy in acute care, outpatient, or therapy units: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice: Required
• CPR or BLS certification: Required
• Valid Driver's License and age at least 21: Required

Essential Functions

• Performs physical therapy treatments and guides patients through functional activities.
• Observes patient responses and reports changes.
• Documents interventions and services provided.
• Provides education and training to patients and caregivers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
