Job Summary

Provides physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, including modalities, manual techniques, and exercises. Guides patients through functional activities like bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance. Works under minimal supervision and may mentor staff.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent: Preferred
• Two years' technical experience: Preferred
• Experience in therapy in acute care, outpatient, or therapy units: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice: Required
• CPR or BLS certification: Required
• Valid Driver's License and age at least 21: Required
• Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA): Required

Essential Functions:

• Performs treatments, guides patients, and documents interventions.
• Observes patient responses, reports changes, and follows treatment precautions.
• Provides education and training to patients and caregivers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
