As a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:
- Administer the physical therapy treatment plan as developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Administer non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water, and electrical modalities to patients.
- Accurately document daily, weekly, or monthly records of clients’ progress and submit clinical paperwork to the office on time each week.
- Attend educational meetings and contribute to department in-services.
- Notify the physical therapist or Executive Director of equipment failures, lack of supplies, staff or client changes, and other departmental issues.
- Schedule clients and perform various office tasks.
- Apply infection control concepts and universal precautions during patient care activities.
- Accept clinical assignments that align with your education and competence to care for patients.
- Promote compliance with all fiscal intermediaries and third-party payors through education, coaching, and assistance.
Use your skills to make an impact
Required Experience/Skills:
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA-accredited program.
- Current state license to practice Physical Therapy.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Proof of current CPR certification.
- Minimum two years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Knowledge of physical, emotional, social, and biological changes in the geriatric population.
- Self-directed, enthusiastic, and receptive to constructive feedback.
- Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- Professional attitude and image with patients, families, coworkers, and others.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally.
- Maintain confidentiality and current licensure certifications; meet continuing education requirements.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Regular attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
