Job description

As a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:

  • Administer the physical therapy treatment plan as developed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Administer non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction heat, light, cold, water, and electrical modalities to patients.
  • Accurately document daily, weekly, or monthly records of clients’ progress and submit clinical paperwork to the office on time each week.
  • Attend educational meetings and contribute to department in-services.
  • Notify the physical therapist or Executive Director of any equipment failures, lack of supplies, staff or client changes, and other departmental issues.
  • Schedule clients and perform varied office tasks.
  • Apply infection control concepts and universal precautions during patient care activities.
  • Accept clinical assignments that align with your education and competence to care for patients.
  • Promote compliance with all fiscal intermediaries and/or other third-party payers through education, coaching, and assistance as necessary.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Current state license to practice Physical Therapy.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Proof of current CPR certification.
  • Minimum two years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Knowledge of the physical, emotional, social, and biological changes in the geriatric population.
  • Self-directed, enthusiastic, and receptive to constructive feedback.
  • Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Professional attitude and image with patients, families, coworkers, and others.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally.
  • Maintain confidentiality and current licensure certifications.
  • Meet mandatory continuing education requirements and maintain clinical competency.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Good and consistent attendance.
Pay Range and Benefits

Pay Range:
$37.00 - $52.00 per visit/unit
$58,400 - $80,000 per year (base pay)
