Job description
Department: Physical Therapy Henry Ford Southfield Campus
FULL Time (40 hours per week) Day shift 8:00am-4:30pm with rotating weekends & holidays
GENERAL SUMMARY
Conducts medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Responsibilities:
Provides physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
Performs therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population.
Documents treatment interventions given.
May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: -
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy Asst credentialed from the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy required.
Associate's degree
Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans developed by a licensed Physical Therapist.
Monitor patient progress and communicate observations to the supervising Physical Therapist to inform care plan adjustments.
Accurately document patient treatments and responses following facility standards and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
Assist in supervising and mentoring physical therapy students and rehabilitation support staff.
Willingness to float to inpatient rehab as needed to provide coverage during staff absences.
Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
Previous experience in acute care or inpatient rehab settings is preferred
