Job summary

Hughston Clinic seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide direct patient care under the treatment plan established by the primary Physical Therapist. The role includes documenting patient care, adhering to care plans, and operating therapeutic equipment across potentially multiple locations.

Required: Associate degree in Physical Therapy, Current PTA license, and BLS certification. A valid driver’s license and clean MVR may be required for onboarding.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administer physical therapy treatment programs as supervised by PT staff and aligned with the plan of care.
• Adhere to the plan of care established by PT for each patient’s care.
• Operate therapeutic equipment and devices as necessary.
• Document care and other patient information for medical records including history, treatment and consultations.
• Comply with infection control and safety procedures.
• Bill patients according to proper procedures.
• Educate patients, families, and other therapy staff.
• Participate in professional development and maintain affiliations.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and state ethics.
• Perform wound care and assessments to enhance surgical outcomes.
• Provide progress documentation in a timely manner.
• Stay updated on protocols for patient population.

Position Responsibilities

• Maintain HIPAA and abide by appropriate State Ethics laws.
• Perform appropriate wound care and assessment to enhance surgical outcomes.
• Provide documentation with appropriate progress in a timely and efficient manner.
• Stay up to date on appropriate protocols for patient population.

Special Qualifications

• May require working at multiple locations.
• Valid Driver’s License, satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) and proof of insurance required for position on-boarding.
• Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment.
• Current PTA license.
• Maintain BLS certification.
