Job summary

Mariner Healthcare is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, assisting with patient treatment plans and progress documentation in a clinical setting.

The PTA will educate residents, families, and caregivers on prescribed exercises, device use, and home care while ensuring adherence to federal guidelines and state practice acts. This role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and teamwork with the care team.

Qualifications

• Must hold PTA license issued by the state.
• Degree from an APTA-accredited PTA program is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct treatment to residents as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Documents resident progress toward established goals.
• Teaches exercises to residents, families, and caregivers and may instruct on use and care of orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assisting apparatus.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations.

SUMMARY

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist with a patient’s treatment program in accordance with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provides direct treatment to residents as directed by and according to the plan of care outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Documents resident progress towards meeting established goals.
• Teaches exercises to residents, family members, and caregivers and may provide instruction in the use and care for orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assisting apparatus.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree from an APTA accredited program
• Licensed as Physical Therapist Assistant
