Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant (FLOAT) to support multiple Barrington region locations. You will follow established PT plans, progress patients, and document outcomes in outpatient orthopedic settings.

The position emphasizes collaboration with physicians and therapists, mentoring for new grads, and ongoing education. IBJI offers robust benefits and a supportive professional environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
• Holds current license to practice in Illinois.
• Ability to support as a FLOAT in Barrington, Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Lake Barrington, McHenry, Wauconda, and Grayslake.
• Ability to support Part-Time 30 Hours.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds occasionally.
• Demonstrates good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing.
• Ability to stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes.
• Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day.

Responsibilities

• Support as a FLOAT in Barrington, Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Lake Barrington, McHenry, Wauconda, and Grayslake.
• Carry out treatment plans established by the physical therapist including progression of patient to attain functional goals.
• Provide exceptional care for patients in an outpatient orthopedic clinical setting.
• Written documentation on patient status per IBJI Rehab guidelines.
• Periodic written communication to physicians through progress notes and discharges, co-signed by PT.
• Frequent communication with supervising PT regarding progression, discharge and follow up.
• Supervising Rehabilitation Technicians with patient care and administrative staff as needed.
• Maintain daily paperwork including documentation in patient charts (daily notes, progress notes, discharges, HEP).
• Stays current with billing policies and demonstrates ethical billing practices.
• Develops positive relationships with physical therapists and physician teams at IBJI.
• Participates in IBJI programs including mentoring, clinical educator, and community outreach.

• Support as a FLOAT in the following locations: Barrington, Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Lake Barrington, McHenry, Wauconda, and Grayslake
• Carries out treatment plans established by the physical therapist including progression of patient to attain functional goals as deemed appropriate by patient status and normal progression.
• Provide exceptional care for patients in an outpatient orthopedic clinical setting.
• Written documentation on patient status per compliance guidelines of IBJI Rehab.
• Periodic written communication to physicians through progress notes and discharges after consulting with the supervising PT regarding assessment and plan, and co-signed by PT
• Frequent communication with supervising PT regarding appropriate patient progression, discharge and patient follow up.
• Supervising Rehabilitation Technicians with patient care and administrative staff as needed.
• Compliance with daily paperwork which includes documenting all treatment in patient charts in a timely manner (daily notes, progress notes, discharges, HEP, etc).
• Stays current with billing policies and demonstrates ethical billing practices.
• Maintains active state license by earning appropriate CEU’s through outside courses and IBJI sponsored educational opportunities.
• Develops positive relationships with physical therapists and physician teams at IBJI.
• Takes an active role in the patient medical team by facilitating relationships with PT’s, MD’s and case managers as appropriately directed by supervising PT.
• Participates in IBJI sponsored programs including mentoring, clinical educator, special interest groups, community outreach, etc.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
