Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to work under the direction of a physical therapist. The PTA implements selected components of patient interventions, collects data, and adjusts interventions to progress the patient safely. This full-time position requires graduation from an accredited PTA program, current licensure, and BLS.

One year of PTA experience is preferred. You will document timely, communicate with the care team, and participate in quality

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
  • Current state Board of Physical Therapist Assistant licensure.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Preferred: One year of PTA experience.

Responsibilities

  • Implements the individualized plan of care as established by the physical therapist.
  • Adjusts treatment interventions in response to patient feedback, objective data and observation within the established plan of care.
  • Assists the physical therapist with managing the established discharge plan throughout treatment.
  • Supervises and delegates to ancillary staff and students consistent with state laws and department policy.
  • Completes legible, accurate, and clear documentation within the established timeframe identified in the department policy and procedure and in accordance with accreditation requirements and insurance regulations.
  • Communicates with the patient, family, caregivers, significant others, and members of the health care team to promote maximum benefit of care utilizing AIDET.
  • Identifies educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and provides education to meet those needs.
  • Participates in professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, including in-service meetings, workshops, and by reading current literature concerning scope of practice.
  • Actively participates in quality improvement activities.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.Complies with appropriate and approved safety standards.
  • Functions within scope of practice as defined by the state’s practice act.
  • Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Education

Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program
Current state Board of Physical Therapist Assistant licensure

Job description

Required:
