Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for home health in Oregon. Under a Physical Therapist's supervision, you will implement the plan of care, assist patients with therapeutic exercises, and monitor progress.

You will educate patients and families, document responses, and participate in developing treatments while complying with state laws and therapy standards. A valid Oregon license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Current licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in Oregon.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and the supervising Physical Therapist's plan of care; perform only qualified procedures.
• Instruct and assist patients in active/passive exercise, gait, ADL, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses and condition changes to PT/nurse/physician.
• Educate patient, family, and care team on therapy areas to participate in.
• Visit patients per Plan of Treatment; complete progress notes per policy.
• Participate in developing Plan of Treatment and attend staff conferences.
• Adhere to therapy standards of practice for all patients; perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, is at all times responsible to follow all state specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the Physical Therapist; to perform only those procedures that he/she is qualified and trained to perform and to make all recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training
• Observes, records, and reports to the supervising PT, the supervising nurse, and/or the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy in which they can participate to assist the patient
• Visits patient according to Plan of Treatment; complete a progress note for each visit and submits progress notes per LHC policy
• Participates in developing the Plan of Treatment
• Participates in staff conferences and committees as necessary
• Adheres to LHC Therapy Standards of Practice in provision of services to all patients
• All other duties as assigned

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $30.00 to $45.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
