Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support home health services in Oregon. You will work under a Physical Therapist, delivering prescribed exercises, gait and ADL activities, and patient education to enhance well‑being.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, communicating patient responses, and participating in treatment planning. A valid Oregon PTA license and CPR eligibility are required or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Current license to practice as PTA in Oregon.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transport.
  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

  • Follow the plan of care under supervision of a PT.
  • Assist with active and passive exercises and gait training.
  • Observe and report patient responses to treatment.
  • Educate patient and family on therapy activities.
  • Document visits and progress notes per policy.
  • Participate in developing the plan of treatment.

The Physical Therapist Assistant performs treatment and provides exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving/enhancing the patient's well-being while following the established plan of care.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, is at all times responsible to follow all state specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the Physical Therapist; to perform only those procedures that he/she is qualified and trained to perform and to make all recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training
  • Observes, records, and reports to the supervising PT, the supervising nurse, and/or the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition
  • Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy in which they can participate to assist the patient
  • Visits patient according to Plan of Treatment; complete a progress note for each visit and submits progress notes per LHC policy
  • Participates in developing the Plan of Treatment
  • Participates in staff conferences and committees as necessary
  • Adheres to LHC Therapy Standards of Practice in provision of services to all patients
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • License Requirements Current licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of Oregon.
  • Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation
Preferred Qualification:
  • Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $30.00 to $45.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
