Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) responsibilities include:

• Assist in implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide direct therapy services to residents, including exercises, activities, and techniques to improve mobility, strength, coordination, and daily living skills.
• Monitor resident progress and report findings to the Occupational Therapist for adjustments to the treatment plan.
• Educate residents and their families on therapeutic exercises and techniques to be performed at home.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy services provided, including progress notes and assessments.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff to ensure comprehensive care.
• Ensure that therapy equipment is maintained and in good working condition.
• Comply with all regulatory requirements and facility policies.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) qualifications:

• Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program.
• Valid PTA license in the state of New Jersey.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and committed to enhancing the lives of residents.
