Job summary

Northern Neck Senior Care Community is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house therapy team in a long-term care setting. New grads welcome and relocation assistance/sign-on bonus available.

The PTA will implement treatment plans, provide therapeutic interventions, monitor progress, and document outcomes in our electronic system while collaborating with nurses, OT, and speech-language pathology to support resident mobility and daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current VA licensure as a PTA.
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement physical therapy treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic interventions such as exercises, gait training, balance activities.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising PT.
• Assist residents with mobility and activities of daily living.
• Educate residents and staff on mobility techniques and equipment use.
• Maintain documentation of treatments, progress notes, and records.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
• Collaborate with nurses, OTs, and SLPs to support care plans.
• Adhere to federal, state, and facility policies.

Northern Neck Senior Care Community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our IN-HOUSE therapy team! New Grads Welcome!

*$2,500 Re-location Assistance/Sign-On Bonus Available*

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement physical therapy treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
• Provide therapeutic interventions such as exercises, gait training, balance activities, and use of assistive devices.
• Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with mobility and physical functioning to support daily living activities.
• Educate residents, caregivers, and staff on mobility techniques and use of adaptive equipment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments, progress notes, and other required records.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment for all residents.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including nurses, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists to support resident care plans.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current VA licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Prior experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric setting preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
