Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to support patient recovery through guided therapeutic interventions that improve mobility, function, and quality of life.

You will work closely with a Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team to deliver hands-on care across inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and community settings, contributing to discharge planning and patient independence.

Qualifications

• Less than one year of physical therapy experience required.
• Foundational knowledge of physical therapy principles, including how and why treatments are performed, with ability to interpret patient data under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient treatment using a variety of therapeutic interventions to support recovery of physical function and management of developmental conditions.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan to deliver age-appropriate, effective care.
• Supports the development and implementation of comprehensive rehabilitation programs addressing physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
• Promotes patient and caregiver independence by connecting them with appropriate resources and support services.
• Collaborates and communicates with interdisciplinary care teams involved in patient treatment.
• Supports discharge planning by working toward goals established at evaluation and throughout the episode of care.
• Advocates for patients to ensure access to appropriate care, services, and resources.
• Provides care across multiple settings, including inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and community-based environments.
• Performs other duties as assigned
