Job Summary :
Treats physical therapy patients according to laws governing physical therapy and physical therapy assistant practices in the state of Georgia. Handles all clinical responsibilities as imposed on them by the laws of this state. Delivers appropriate patient care, documentation, and supervision to support staff as warranted. Works under direct supervision of physical therapist to provide physical therapy services to patients
REQUIREMENTS:
The therapist assistant must be able to see a variety of patient needs and implement treatment to confront these needs. Assistant must be highly motivated to meet the needs of this clinic and our patients’ needs.
Implements cost effective and quality driven physical therapy assistant care. Performs routine patient treatments, follows treatment plans established by physical therapists, and communicates patient status as necessary to the therapist.
Demonstrates knowledge of, and supports corporate mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, and the code of ethical behavior.
Supervises support personnel to assist in the delivery of care as outlined by the laws governing the delivery of physical therapy and physical therapy assistance in the state of Georgia.
Maintains all documentation of patient care in a thorough and timely manner. Supports delivery of patient care with documentation and accurate reporting.
Bills patients according to laws governing the delivery of physical therapy. This includes all regulations concerning billing of Medicare/Medicaid patients. All billing is documented and substantiated in the patient record.
Provides mentorship and supervision of Physical Therapy Assistant students in the clinical setting.
Maintains all state, local, and national licensure requirements.
Communicates and assists the Director with aspects of clinical care.
Assures patient care needs are met and where possible exceeded. This includes assisting in scheduling and directing scheduling when necessary.
Meets productivity standards of the physical therapy department. If individual productivity falls below expected standards, therapist assistant makes corrections and changes as necessary to meet productivity standards.
Delegates to Physical Therapy Technicians and accepts authority and duties as necessary, but maintains partial responsibility for success of operations.
Maintains confidentiality of the patient record. Adheres to all HIPAA regulations.
EDUCATION:
Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program. Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy Assistant licensure required.
