Job summary

Almaden Health and Rehabilitation Center in California is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our clinical team. The PTA will provide treatment under the plan of care, perform strength and ROM assessments, and assist with resident discharge planning.

The position offers a salary range of $81,120 to $93,600 with full-time or part-time options and a sign-on bonus. Licensure in California and a PTA credential are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a PTA program.
• California PTA license required.
• One year clinical experience preferred; new grads welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal patients.
• Administers tests for strength, coordination, ROM and circulatory efficiency.
• Delivers direct clinical treatment per established care plan.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• May assist with home assessments to support safe discharge.
• Completes forms and documents per policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
