Laurellwood Post-Acute and Rehab is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The PTA will assist in developing and implementing treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and functional independence.

Responsibilities include assessing patients with the PT, implementing interventions, educating patients and families for home programs, and maintaining compliant progress notes and records.

Qualifications

• Assist the PT in assessing patients' physical abilities and limitations to develop effective treatment plans.
• Implement prescribed physical therapy interventions, including exercises, activities, and modalities, to improve patients' physical function and mobility.
• Educate patients and families on home exercises to support ongoing rehabilitation.
• Monitor and document patients' progress and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in team meetings, in-service training, and continuing education opportunities.
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice.

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT) to provide rehabilitative services to patients with physical impairments or disabilities. The PTA will assist in developing and implementing treatment plans aimed at improving patients' mobility, strength, and overall functional abilities, thereby enhancing their independence and quality of life.

• Assist the PT in assessing patients' physical abilities and limitations to develop effective treatment plans.
• Implement prescribed physical therapy interventions, including exercises, therapeutic activities, and modalities, to improve patients' physical function and mobility.
• Educate patients and their families on exercises and activities to be performed at home to support ongoing rehabilitation.
• Monitor and document patients' progress, communicating any changes or concerns to the supervising PT.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of patient treatments, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in compliance with Vivo Healthcare policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
• Participate in team meetings, in-service training, and continuing education opportunities to enhance professional development and maintain current knowledge in the field.
• Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of practice as outlined by state and national regulatory bodies.
