Job summary

The Virginia Home is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join our compassionate care team in Virginia. You will provide high-quality, person-centered therapy to residents, working with a supportive PT team and interdisciplinary staff to enhance mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.

Ideal candidates hold a Virginia PTA license, CPR certification, and demonstrate strong communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current, unrestricted Virginia PTA license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy services according to individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Work with residents to support their mobility, function, independence, and quality of life.
• Monitor and communicate residents’ progress and any changes in condition.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Nursing, physicians, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Participate in care planning, team meetings, training, and professional development.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and positive environment for residents.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to move throughout the facility and participate in resident care activities. Must be able to sit and walk for extended periods and bend, squat, push, stoop, and pull as needed. Must be able to safely lift more than 50 pounds with assistance, based on the resident’s abilities.
