Qualifications

• Valid license as a Physical Therapy Assistant with current state licensure.
• Experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings or home health preferred.
• Skilled nursing facility experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with physiotherapy techniques across orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics and acute care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and care plan development.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with patients of all ages.
• Experience with discharge planning processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans across inpatient, outpatient, home health and SNF settings.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises and modalities, including trigger point therapy and manual techniques to relieve pain and improve mobility.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment approaches under supervision.
• Educate patients on exercises, injury prevention and recovery strategies.
• Document patient responses and progress in medical records with confidentiality.
• Support discharge planning and prepare patients for ongoing care needs post-treatment.
• Ensure safety by following protocols and maintaining equipment hygiene.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and transitions between settings.
