Catholic Health Initiatives is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support patient recovery and improve quality of life. You will conduct initial evaluations, develop care plans, and deliver direct treatments in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • Eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in TX.
  • Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or equivalent.
  • BLS/CPR certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Administers therapeutic exercises and modalities according to plan of care.
  • Instructs and assists patients to learn functional activities such as ambulation and daily living tasks.
  • Observes patients during treatments and reports progress to the PT and physicians as needed.
  • Fits patients for braces, prostheses, and assistive devices.
  • Promotes professional customer service and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Encourages patient/family participation in goal setting and education.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Physical Therapist, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life.

Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.

  • Administers therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities according to the physical therapy plan of care
  • Instructs, motivates and Assists patients to learn and improve functional activity, such as pre‐ambulation, transfer, ambulation and daily living activities
  • Observes patients during treatments, Assesses, and compiles data on patients’ responses to treatments and progress and reports verbally or in writing to the physical therapist; may communicate updates to physicians
  • Fit patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs
  • May perform clerical duties
  • Promotes and Supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and hospital personnel. Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer’s needs are met in a timely manner. Encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education

  • Associates Other Physical Therapist Assistants and Graduates eligible for licensure will be considered, upon hire

Where You'll Work

St. Joseph Health Grimes Hospital is a 25- bed critical access hospital in Navasota, Texas offering a Level IV Trauma Center, in-patient and out-patient services, physical therapy, emergency care, occupational therapy, skilled nursing care, injury treatment and more.

The ED includes a triage room, 5 patient rooms and a central nurses' station. The ED maintains a specific designation for Stroke and Trauma care and is equipped with 24-hour emergency services, laboratory, and CT scans.

Pay Range

$29.36 - $43.68 /hour
