Mesquite Post Acute Care in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Full Time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our in-house therapy team. You will deliver skilled therapy and contribute to discharge planning in a post-acute and geriatric setting.

As part of our team you’ll have opportunities for training in Think Thin/dysphagia, dementia care, stroke and neuro rehabilitation, and respiratory recovery programs, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• PTA license is required.
• Open to PTAs at all experience levels.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients to develop care plans.

Mesquite Post Acute Care in Lubbock, TX, is a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric outpatient services provided. We are seeking a Full Time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our in-house therapy team. As part of this amazing team of clinicians, you will have opportunities for training and continuing education in Think Thin/dysphagia, Abilities Care and dementia, stroke and neuro rehabilitation, and respiratory recovery programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct effective screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing appropriate care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• The role involves regular standing and walking throughout the facility and occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment. Physical demands vary throughout the day based on patient care needs.
• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.

Qualifications

• Physical Therapist Assistant license is required.
