Job summary

Goldsboro Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Goldsboro, NC is hiring a Part-Time Physical Therapy Assistant to join our long-term care team. The PTA will provide comprehensive treatments under PT supervision, assist with patient referrals, and document progress per state guidelines.

The role emphasizes collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, accurate billing, and commitment to patient care, with opportunities for professional growth within the facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress notes with co-signature by the PT.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Schedule patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for PT services.
• Cover other therapists’ caseload during absences as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients, and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or PT services as needed.

• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and project a professional image at all times.
• Adhere to productivity requirements.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the department Supervisor, Lead Therapist or Regional Manager.
• Comply with all Facility policies re: lunch, sick and time off notification.
• Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
