Job summary

Park Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide clinical services to residents under physician’s orders in a skilled nursing setting in Florida. The role supports the Physical Therapist by assisting with procedures and documenting patient progress, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

The TA will participate in ongoing professional development, maintain confidentiality, manage billing records, and attend interdisciplinary as well

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Physical Therapy and current license in the state.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance with state and federal regulations related to the treatment environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to residents under physician’s orders
• Report patient progress and response to treatment to the Physical Therapist
• Assist the Physical Therapist in procedures and treatments to ensure safe, effective evaluation
• Participate in continuing education and professional development
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, facility, and physician information
• Maintain accurate billing information daily
• Attend interdisciplinary meetings to relay findings and recommendations
• Attend family meetings when appropriate
• Adhere to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and facility
• Conduct staff training via in-services and consultations
• Follow facility policies and Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual
• Supervise non-professional staff as appropriate

Job description

The Physical Therapist Assistant must have: Associates Degree in Physical Therapy, current license in the state, excellent oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance within state and federal regulations related to the environment of treatment.

The Physical Therapy Assistant:

• Provides clinical services to appropriate residents under physician’s orders
• Reports information relating to the patient’s progress, complications, and/or response to treatment to the Physical Therapist
• Assists Physical Therapist in performing procedures, test and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients
• Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development by participating in continuing education programs and other appropriate learning experiences
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility, and physician-related information
• Maintains accurate billing information, in accordance with procedures, on a daily basis
• Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings, as appropriate, to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team
• Attends and participates in family meetings, as appropriate
• Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and the facility
• Conducts staff training/education, as appropriate, via formal and informal in-services and consultations
• Reviews and follows the policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual
• Supervises non-professional staff, as appropriate
