Job summary

Signature Healthcare at Home in Bainbridge Island, WA is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our home-based care team in a flexible, PRN/on-call capacity. You will support therapy needs for Bainbridge Island, providing coverage wherever needed, with competitive compensation and a supportive work environment.

The role requires CAPTE-accredited PTA education, active WA PTA licensure, CPR certification, and at least 1 year of PTA experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAPTE accredited 2 year associate PTA degree program.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a PTA in this state
• Current CPR Certification
• Minimum 1-year recent work experience as a PTA

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care in the home setting under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Perform treatments as assigned and outlined in the treatment plan, delivering personalized home-based care.
• Conduct muscle strengthening, mobility, balance activities, and gait training.
• Monitor patient responses and modify interventions in collaboration with the PT.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on assistive devices and home safety.

Responsibilities

• This position is crucial in providing quality patient care to individuals and their families during significant times in their lives
• As a PTA, you will conduct treatments as assigned by the Physical Therapist (PT) and outlined in the treatment plan, ensuring that each patient receives personalized care in the comfort of their own home
• In this role, you will be responsible for conducting various treatments that focus on muscle strengthening, coordination, mobility, sensory awareness, and balance activities
• You will monitor each patient’s response to interventions and consult with the PT for any necessary modifications to the treatment plan
• Additionally, you will play a vital role in training and educating patients, families, and caregivers on the use of assistive devices, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge to support their loved ones effectively
• You will have the opportunity to participate in weekly team meetings to discuss patient care plans, allowing for a comprehensive approach to treatment
• We believe in building strong relationships with our patients and their families, and we provide the training, support, and resources necessary to help you fulfill your passion for healthcare
• Conduct treatments associated with muscle strengthening, coordination, mobility, sensory awareness, sitting and standing, transfer training, balance activities, gait training, range of motion activities and modalities
• Monitor patient’s response to intervention and consult with the Physical Therapist if modification is required
• Train and educate patient, family, and caregivers in the use of assistive devices
• Assist the PT in the evaluation process and in identifying short-term and long-term goals and treatment plans
