Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team in Farmingdale. As a PTA, you will work collaboratively with Physical Therapists to provide high-quality patient care and rehabilitation services.
- Deliver hands-on patient care and therapeutic treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Implement prescribed treatment plans and monitor patient progress
- Perform therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques
- Document patient treatments, responses, and progress accurately in electronic health records
- Educate patients and caregivers about exercises, movement modifications, and home program activities
- Assist in patient mobility and transfer activities
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Track and report patient progress to supervising Physical Therapist
- Participate in regular team meetings and care planning sessions
Qualifications- Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state license to practice as a PTA
- Valid CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques
- Excellent patient care and assessment skills
- Proficient documentation and electronic health record skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Physical stamina to assist patients with exercises and mobility
- Demonstrated problem-solving and time management skills
- Knowledge of physical therapy protocols and safety guidelines
- Basic understanding of orthopedics and rehabilitation principles
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
