The Encompass Group is partnering with a leading orthopedic healthcare organization to hire a Physical Therapist Assistant for outpatient orthopedic care in Crown Point, Indiana.

You will assist with treatment plans, lead therapeutic exercises, document progress in EMR, and collaborate with therapists to improve mobility and function. This role emphasizes patient education, home exercise programs, and maintaining a safe treatment environment.

Qualifications

• Current, valid state PTA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 1+ year outpatient orthopedic experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of physical therapy principles and EMR documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Lead patients through therapeutic exercises, balance and gait training, and functional activities.
• Utilize treatment modalities such as heat, ice, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and traction as directed.
• Monitor and document patient progress and responses to treatment.
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and the safe use of assistive devices.
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment.
