Position Overview

As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you’ll assist licensed Physical Therapists in evaluating and providing treatments to patients recovering from injury, illness, surgery, or other conditions. Your role will be pivotal in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. You’ll work in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), providing hands-on care that truly makes a difference.

Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) tasks will include, but not limited to :

• Prepares patients and equipment for therapy and implements treatment plans as instructed, including exercise, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment.
• Record patient's reaction to treatment and provides status reports at the end of each treatment.
• Making modifications to treatments as directed by the physical therapist to help the patient progress or to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Use devices, such as walkers, and other equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
• Previous experience in acute care and sub-acute care
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction
