Ideal candidates will have an interest in working with an orthopedic and Pelvic Health patient population or the desire to gain experience in this specialty.

Therapeutic Associates, Inc. has maintained a contract with St. Joseph’s Medical Center since 1954, within inpatient and outpatient settings. We serve patients ranging from newborns to older adulthood. Our patients include NICU, orthopedic, neurological, oncology, bariatric, and ICU early mobility cases. We are an advanced primary stroke center!

Our acute rehabilitation is primarily neurological, with some post ICU patients and complex orthopedics. Our outpatient focus includes hand therapy, oncology, head and neck lymphedema, orthopedic, sports medicine, women’s health/continence restoration, balance, Parkinson’s disease, torticollis, and more!

Our facility is divided into 5 areas: inpatient, outpatient, acute rehab, balance clinic, and oncology rehab — each with unique features. The inpatient hospital offers bedside treatment or in two PT gyms. The acute rehab area has a dedicated floor with a PT/OT gym. The balance clinic features a Balance Master with force plates and serves Parkinson’s patients using the LSVT "Big and Loud" methodology. The oncology rehab area includes lymphedema rooms, a gym, and a restorative garden. The outpatient office has multiple treatment rooms, a work hardening and hands area, and a gym for patient treatment.

We seek a PTA eager to learn and grow in our practice areas. Our ideal candidate is flexible, curious, proactive, and looking for a supportive team environment. New grads are encouraged to apply!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The PTA will work under the supervision of a physical therapist to provide patient care components including therapeutic exercises, functional training, education, soft tissue work, or modalities as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate competency in delivering quality services aligned with the treatment plan established by the PT.
  • Support and maintain the PT's care plan, work with an established schedule, and complete accurate documentation.
  • Assess patient physical, functional, cognitive, psychological, and perceptual status accurately.
  • Communicate treatment progression, changes, and follow-up recommendations to PT and team members as needed.
  • Educate and counsel patients on treatment issues, safety, and ongoing management strategies.
  • Teach patients home exercise programs and techniques for managing deficits.
  • Meet clinic demands, work effectively with support staff, and perform other duties as required.
  • Support team collaboration and foster the growth of the organization.
  • Show eagerness to advance clinical skills and develop leadership qualities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Physical Therapist Assistant Degree from an accredited institution by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education
